Position: Associate Scholarly Communications Advisor
- The Associate Scholarly Communications Advisor is responsible for supporting individual subscribers in developing institutional repository (IR) collections by identifying sources of new content and helping to improve marketing and outreach to campus constituents. The Associate Scholarly Communications Advisor tracks and relays relevant information about individual sites, highlights interesting stories, and communicates trends both internally and externally.
- The Associate Scholarly Communications Advisor also supports the Manager, Outreach and Scholarly Communications in identifying and understanding trends in IRs and scholarly communications, both within the Digital Commons subscriber base and in the university environment as a whole. The Associate Scholarly Communications Advisor will work with the Manager, Outreach and Scholarly Communications to continue to collect, develop, and share best practices and better understand factors for IR and library-publishing success.
- Until June of 2010, the Associate Scholarly Communications Advisor will devote approximately 50% of his/her time to developing one specific repository. This will include: working with key contacts on campus to identify and upload content; working with bepress Client Services to build the repository, structures, and content collections; and developing relationships with stakeholders on the campus.

- As Associate Scholarly Communications Advisor, you will:
- Build client relationships
- Lead check in phone calls with individual clients
- Conduct webinars and new subscriber outreach tours
- Identify and facilitate opportunities for further collection growth
- Support and facilitate projects that lead to increased engagement with campus stakeholders and site visitors
- Identify and promote new sources of content and new stakeholders at individual site level and on aggregate
- Communicate relevant scholarly communications news and developments internally and externally
- Communicate relevant news and developments amongst subscriber base to relevant parties (internal and external)
- Write content for newsletter and other publications
- Share in the management of subscriber events and contribute to subscriber resources
- Other duties as required
- Qualification and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience in customer support, marketing, or related fields
- Experience planning and conducting research projects
- Ability to pick up new technologies quickly
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Able to work collaboratively
- Team-oriented
- Familiarity with university libraries and academic culture
