New Scheduled Share for Dashboards Saves Time Connecting with Campus Stakeholders

We’ve been inspired by all the ways you’ve been sharing the Dashboard to engage stakeholders like Graduate Studies or your administration.

That’s why we’re excited to roll out the new Scheduled Share feature on the Digital Commons and Impact Dashboards, which provides automatic and recurring Dashboard links to share the value and impact of the repository.

Lee Dotson, Digital Initiatives Librarian at the University of Central Florida, says this will save her and her staff time and increase communication efforts because it will eliminate the need to manually send Dashboard updates.

For the past couple of years, UCF has been creating Dashboard updates in an effort to bring the authors’ Readership Report functionality to community and collection administrators and various stakeholders. “Up until now, this has been a time-consuming and underutilized process,” Lee says, “but we anticipate that will quickly change with the new Scheduled Share feature.”

“The ability to customize the Dashboard view and frequency of the updates will allow us to tailor outreach to various audiences. For example, we will now have the ability to automatically schedule full STARS repository updates to be delivered to the UCF Scholarly Communications Faculty Advisory Board prior to its semi-annual meetings, share a selected journal update to be sent to editorial board members quarterly, and send discipline specific updates to our subject librarians on a monthly basis,” Lee explained.
