Aims & Scope
Review of Middle East Economics and Finance is a peer-reviewed journal addressing applied original research in the fields of economics and finance pertaining to the Middle East and North Africa region, including Turkey and Iran. Although RMEEF focuses on the region of the Middle East and North Africa, the journal welcomes submissions that treat the economics of neighboring countries and/or the relationship and interactions between those economies and the MENA region. Topic areas, although not exhaustive, encompass:
- Monetary and fiscal policies
- Political economy
- Poverty and income distribution
- Labor and welfare economics
- International trade and finance
- Financial markets and institutions
- Business cycles, financial instability and crisis
Strong emphasis is placed on empirically based papers. The journal includes a review section of books dealing with the above topics. Review of Middle East Economics and Finance is sponsored by the Lebanese American University. From 2002 to 2005 (Volumes 1 – 3), the journal was published by Taylor & Francis. The journal’s first volume with The Berkeley Electronic Press will appear in 2007.
Submissions
The Editor welcomes submission of material for consideration as a main article or a book review. Comments on articles previously published in Review of Middle East Economics and Finance can also be submitted. Main articles should be broadly consistent with the "Aims and Scope" of Review of Middle East Economics and Finance, and be approximately 5,000-7,000 words in length. They should include an abstract of no more than 200 words. Book reviews should be in the range of 1,000-2,000 words.
