Aims & Scope
The Journal of Quantitative Analysis in Sports welcomes submissions that utilize quantitative methods to analyze issues in sports. We aim to be a general forum for scholars with a strong interest in quantitative methods and sports. Submissions on such topics as measuring player performance, projecting performance from “minor” leagues to “major” leagues, strategy, economics and psychology, in all sports will be welcome. Authors should keep in mind that while readers will be quantitatively sophisticated, not all will be experts in a particular sport; therefore an effort should be made to explain the nuances of the sport being analyzed.
Authors are urged to be creative in the application of statistical tools to sports so long as all methods are carefully explained and data sources detailed. We are interested in both answers to specific questions as well as the introduction of new tools for analysis. Results should be reproducible by academics and researchers with an emphasis on results and tools that are useful for professionals in sports.
