Can I include articles in course readers, on my library website, and in e-reserves?
Members of subscribing institutions may use bepress articles in the following ways:
- Post links on course web sites and e-reserve sites, and include links in electronic course packs. We do ask that you direct your users to the article's original site at bepress for the full text, rather than reproducing the full text electronically on your servers. This allows us to report the most accurate usage statistics.
- Print and distribute the full text in course packs, provided these uses are restricted to members of that institution and are not commercial or fee-based.
- To include bepress articles in commercial and/or fee-based course readers, or for any other commercial use, please contact and describe the way that you plan to use the article. We will calculate a reprint fee appropriate to the type of intended use.
What is your policy on inter-library loan?
Subscribing libraries may participate in interlibrary loan, under the constraints outlined in U.S. copyright law and CONTU.
How do I gain access to my institution's usage reports?
Usage statistics reports are available to all institutional subscribers. Please email to set up regular usage reports.
How can I connect bepress journals to my library's gateway?
bepress journals are available through SFX as a target via our XML gateway. We are listed on the ExLibris site as an SFX target.
To set up the connection, subscribers will need to enter the following gateway URL:
http://www.bepress.com/cgi/gateway.cgi
This will allow subscribers to use SFX for metasearch and article-level linking to bepress content.
bepress supports the NISO MXG Draft standard which is itself a subset of SRU 1.1. We do not, however, support SRW at this time.
Where are your journals indexed?
Journal articles are indexed in the most popular search engines and indexing & abstracting services for easy discovery by faculty, students, and staff. Please visit our indexing & abstracting page or the journals' individual sites to find out more.
What is bepress's plan for archiving and perpetual access?
Customers receive perpetual access to the articles that are published in the journals to which they subscribe, during the term of their subscription. All bepress journals are archived according to leading industry standards. We are pleased to participate in both Portico and LOCKSS, two respected independent archives of scholarly journals. We also archive our health & medicine journals with PubMedCentral, the NIH-sponsored permanent open-access archive.
We regularly send these archives the full text and metadata of all the journals we publish. We will continue to enhance our archiving and stay up to date with evolving industry standards.
Why haven’t I received a copy of my journal in the mail?
We only print two titles, Journal of Student Affairs Research and Practice and NASPA Journal About Women in Higher Education. All other bepress journals are online only.
If you have not received your print copy of Journal of Student Affairs Research and Practice or NASPA Journal About Women in Higher Education, please contact .
