Protecting Soft Targets - the JW Marriott Jakarta Case Study

Abstract

This work focuses on the challenge in protecting soft or vulnerable targets against terrorism. Using the suicide bombing attempt of the JW Marriott hotel in Jakarta, Indonesia as a case study, it depicts how hotels and other American business operating overseas can protect their facilities and personnel.
