Call for Papers: Special issue on Hurricane Katrina and Economic Loss
In August 2005, Hurricane Katrina moved across the Atlantic making landfall in Southern Florida before traveling over the Gulf of Mexico and making a second landfall near the Louisiana-Mississippi border. The storm wreaked havoc. Commerce was interrupted, property and infrastructure destroyed, and lives were lost. The full economic impact of Hurricane Katrina is sure to be enormous.
The Journal of Business Valuation and Economic Loss Analysis (JBVELA) plans to devote its Spring 2008 issue to a symposium to discuss, illustrate and analyze issues related to economic loss associated with this catastrophic event. The symposium will consist of several papers connected by a common introduction.
The issue will be co-edited by:
- Bradley Ewing, Texas Tech University
- Jamie Kruse, East Carolina University
- Daniel Sutter, University of Texas-Pan American
Submissions should be made online using the JBVELA electronic submission process. Be sure to note in the cover letter that the paper is being submitted for the Special Issue on Hurricane Katrina and Economic Loss.
Deadline for Submission: December 1, 2007
