Philosophy of Interdisciplinary Journal of Research on Religion
Past efforts at interdisciplinary journals have fallen short of top quality because scholars have been better-rewarded for publishing within their primary discipline. We hope to overcome this problem by various means.
Payment: Using the very substantial savings made by eliminating printing and mailing costs, IJRR will pay $1,000 upon publication of an article (to be shared among co-authors). Every two years the editors will select the outstanding article to receive an award of $3,000 (to be shared among co-authors) and notices of the award will be placed in the appropriate publications.
Rapid Response: We promise to render a decision on all papers within six weeks of submission. Note: will we never ask an author to revise and resubmit. If we like a paper, but believe that it needs some revisions, we will agree to publish if these changes are properly made.
Rapid Publication: Not being bound by the slow pace of printed periodicals, IJRR will publish each article as soon as it has been edited.
Who Can Submit?
Anyone may submit an original article to be considered for publication in Interdisciplinary Journal of Research on Religion provided he or she owns the copyright to the work being submitted or is authorized by the copyright owner or owners to submit the article. Authors are the initial owners of the copyrights to their works (an exception in the non-academic world to this might exist if the authors have, as a condition of employment, agreed to transfer copyright to their employer).
General Submission Rules
Any original work in the field of
economic analysis and policy can be submitted (see also the Aims and Scope page for
Interdisciplinary Journal of Research on Religion). Submitted articles cannot have been previously published, nor be forthcoming in an archival journal or book (print or electronic). Please note: "publication" in a working-paper series does not constitute prior publication. In addition, by submitting material to Interdisciplinary Journal of Research on Religion, the author is stipulating that the material is not currently under review at another journal (electronic or print) and that he or she will not submit the material to another journal (electronic or print) until the completion of the editorial decision process at Interdisciplinary Journal of Research on Religion. If you have concerns about the submission terms for the Interdisciplinary Journal of Research on Religion, please contact the editors.
Formatting Requirements
Interdisciplinary Journal of Research on Religion have no general rules about the formatting of articles upon initial submission. There are, however, rules governing the formatting of the final submission. See Final Manuscript Preparation Guidelines for bepress journals.
Although bepress can provide limited technical support, it is ultimately the responsibility of the author to produce an electronic version of the article as a high-quality PDF (Adobe's Portable Document Format) file, or a Microsoft Word or RTF file that bepress can convert to a PDF file.
It is understood that the current state of technology of Adobe's Portable
Document Format ("PDF") is such that there are no, and can be no, guarantees that
adocuments in PDF will work perfectly with all possible hardware and software
configurations that readers may have.
