Why the Democrats Can Win This Year

R.M. Koster

Abstract

Koster describes the four visions of America that continue to contend for primacy within and between the two major parties. With fewer Americans feeling like outsiders during the 2000 Elections, the Democrats—who champion the value of “fairness”—temporarily lost their dominance over Republicans. Under the Bush presidency, however, the Democratic principle of fairness has become attractive again to voters.
