The 10th International Chemical and Biological Engineering Conference CHEMPOR 2008, organized by the University of Minho, and Ordem dos Engenheiros, and supported by Sociedade Portuguesa de Química and Sociedade Portuguesa de Biotecnologia, will be held in Braga, Portugal, between September 4th and 6th, 2008.
CHEMPOR traditionally gathers academics, scientists, engineers, manufacturers and end users to discuss recent developments in different areas of Chemical and Biological Engineering. One of the major topics of the conference program is Life Quality, due to the importance that Chemical and Biological Engineering plays in this area. This is complemented with additional topics including Engineering Sciences and Fundamentals, Industrial Processes and Process Systems Engineering.
The deadline for abstract submission is March 18th, 2008. We invite you to visit our webpage www.deb.uminho.pt/chempor2008 for detailed information.
Invitation to Conference Organizers
The journal invites the organizing committees of all chemical engineering conferences to contact the editors to suggest selected papers from their conferences to CPPM, which offers fast and high-quality peer-reviewed publication in all fields of chemical process and product modeling.
CALL FOR PAPERS
Process Modeling & Control
A Special Issue of Chemical Product & Process Modeling
Process Modeling & Control
A Special Issue of Chemical Product & Process Modeling
One of the biggest challenges facing process engineers is the reduction of variable costs while preserving product quality, environmental regulations, energy saving, safe operation, and so on. Modeling and control tools play an essential role in all the industrial processes since they are the most effective tools available to fulfill the above tasks. Here, the reliability of hardware and software are two issues that should be addressed.
This special issue of CPPM is aimed at collecting selected papers on interface between modeling and control with the purpose of exploiting the potential of physical and mathematical modeling. It will focus on the best practices to address the fundamental issues of control theory, to get a deeper understanding of the related phenomena while finding some useful applications to these disciplines (by establishing a common framework to deal with vastly different expressions of modeling and control of industrial processes). Applications to petroleum refining, polymer, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, biochemical, and environmental industries are only some examples to this special issue.
We sincerely invite you to submit papers to this special issue.
