Field Experiments
Introduction
This special issue is edited by John A. List of the University of Chicago and refereed as any other issue of our journals. As a new methodology, field experiments bridge laboratory experiments and analyses using naturally-occurring data. Moreover, they can aid policymaking and find general facts about individual and firm-level behavior. They also represent an exciting opportunity to test the validity and relevance of predictions from economic theory. This special issue showcases the various types such as artefactual field experiments, framed field experiments, and natural field experiments.
