An Edible Book Party at bepress Inspired by the DC Community!

At bepress, we love to be silly, and if food is involved, well that’s just icing on the cake, so to speak! So when we saw the Edible Books Festival in Octavofest in Cleveland State University’s IR and the Edible Book Festival in Eastern Illinois’ IR we jumped at the chance to have our own. Michelle Barron-Lutzross, one of our bepress consultants, organized the fête and spoke of it as a great team-building experience “combining literary puns and snacks,” two bepress favorites.

As you can see in the photo, puns and sweets were everywhere…

Kafka on the Shore became ‘Kafka on the Smore’ with smore-flavored cupcakes; A Storm of Swords became ‘The Red Wedding Cake’; East of Eden became ‘Yeast of Eden’; and A Brief History of Time became ‘A Brief History of (Lemon) Thyme.’

Thank you DC Community for your creativity and inspiration!
